virtual baking events

Your baking box will be sent approximately one week before your course. It will be sent unregistered as a "maxi letter," meaning there is no tracking number. We ship the boxes in a timely manner to allow them time to travel across Germany and arrive at their destination on time.

We can make changes to addresses, but please contact us at least 1.5 weeks in advance to make the address change.

You will receive approximately 90% of the ingredients needed to bake your macarons. We do not ship eggs or milk through the mail. We ask that you purchase all fresh ingredients, such as eggs, milk, and butter, as well as a small selection of other ingredients, in advance.

You'll receive the shopping list one week in advance to the email address you provided when booking. We'll also include a printed copy of the shopping list, and when you open the box, it'll be the first thing you see. This should remind you if you haven't already checked the email.

In addition to most of the ingredients, you'll also receive a piping bag, piping nozzle, and silicone baking mat. These are essential for piping and baking the perfect macarons. In the same email as the shopping list, you'll receive a "mise en place" photo showing all the kitchen tools you should have ready when the Zoom call begins.

Some of the most important kitchen appliances are a hand mixer, a rubber spatula and several bowls, ideally made of stainless steel, an oven and a kitchen scale for measuring the fresh ingredients.

We currently have a complete video that you'll have unlimited access to after the virtual macaron class. You'll receive the password for this video via email one week before your virtual class.

This means you can practice or see what the course will cover in advance, or watch it with us after your course to refresh your memory.

We are currently working hard to put together a video for our virtual cake pop course.

A baking box is a great gift for someone who loves to bake and wants everything conveniently delivered to their home in one box. The choice is yours. Alternatively, you can purchase a gift voucher with a specific value or denomination to cover part of the cost of a course or other purchase in our online store.

Event

The maximum number of participants is 11, for which we have seating. Standing room is available for 12 participants.

The minimum number of participants for a private lesson is 4.

This depends on how fully booked we are. Ideally, you should book at least 4-5 months before your event date.

Our course schedule is available online, so you can see which dates are booked well in advance. If you see that your Saturday or Sunday event is already fully booked, try booking a Friday evening appointment.

Almost all of our private events take place at our Waldems location. This is great because you don't have to do the dishes when you're done!

We also offer on-site courses, whether at your home or at an event venue. We bring all the ingredients and materials in large transport crates, set everything up, and then bake together. Please note that bookings outside of the Waldems location will incur additional costs for travel and setup time.

The events usually take place on Saturdays and Sundays, but a very poorly booked but no less entertaining time slot is Friday evening!

There are two main options for course length. There's the shorter course, which is 2.5 hours long and involves small amounts of baking, focusing more on decorating and assembling desserts.

The other option is a 4-hour course. 4-hour courses include a break with complimentary finger food. This typically includes pizza, sandwiches, or salads, as well as a fruit platter. During the 4 hours, participants are involved in the entire baking process.

The shorter version is intended as a quick and easy part of a larger program, while the longer version is for real baking enthusiasts who want to spend as much time as possible baking.

Yes, you are welcome to bring decorations like balloons or banners. Sparkling wine will be provided by your host, Ewa Feix, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Yes, we have a ramp to the bakery. Please let us know in advance so we can inform you about seating options.

The minimum age for participants is 14. Classes are held at a fast pace and in larger groups. It's usually best for 14-year-olds to come with a friend or adult so they have someone to share the class with, as other participants often come with partners. A parent is required for 13- and 12-year-olds.

Participants are welcome to bring a notepad and pen to take notes. Participants may bring their own apron to the event.

At baking events, it's always nice if the organizer provides matching aprons for all participants. Boxes are provided for the freshly baked treats, but you can also bring a large, flat-bottomed bag for easier transport.

No, all courses are designed to be suitable for baking beginners. Das Cupcake courses always offer a mix of basic baking techniques and more advanced techniques.

Ewa Feix's native language is English, but after so many years in Germany, she teaches almost exclusively in German. Surprisingly, demand for English-language classes is very low. Ewa has a strong Canadian accent, but she loves teaching her baking classes in German!

Catering

This depends on the size of your order and how busy we are. Ideally, you should book at least three weeks before your pickup or delivery date.

This ensures that nothing is overlooked and leaves enough time to purchase fresh ingredients and discuss and plan all design ideas. For weddings or large celebrations, we ask for at least five weeks' notice before the pickup or delivery date.

Our pre-orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and may fill up at any time. So the sooner you let us know, the more likely we are to have spots available. Everything is baked fresh to order, and we don't keep any frozen cupcakes or cakes in stock, so last-minute orders aren't possible.

Catering with company logo

If you have trouble uploading your logo, don't stress. Since our lead time for freshly baked logo cupcakes is four days, you always have time to resend and/or we'll contact you with the logo that needs to be printed and follow up.

No, the discs on the logo cake pops are not edible. The logo disc is printed on high-quality paper and threaded through the cake pop stick.

Yes, the discs on the logo cupcakes are completely edible. The logo disc is printed on a piece of sugar paper using edible ink. The sugar paper disc is flaccid, so we use glucose to adhere it to a hard piece of sugar paste, which is also edible.

Condensation often forms inside the cupcake box, causing our logo plates to appear shiny, but this is completely normal. One way to avoid this is to package the logo plates separately and ask the customer to attach the plates themselves before the event. This isn't standard, but it's always an option if you wish.

The logo cake pops come in a cake box. They can be removed from the box and placed directly on a plate or platter, as they have a smooth bottom. Individually wrapped cake pops are also available. Please search our website for individually wrapped cake pops.
for more information about this product.

Individually wrapped macarons are packaged in transparent plastic bags and tied with a ribbon. They are delivered in a cake box and can be shipped directly to you.
