virtual baking events

Your baking box gets sent approximately one week in advance of your course. It is sent unregistered as a „Maxi Brief.“ This means there is no tracking number. We send the boxes well in advance so they have time to travel all across Germany and reach their location on time. We can make changes to the addresses but be sure to contact us at least 1,5 weeks in advance to make that address change.

You receive approximately 90% of the ingredients to bake your macarons. We do not send eggs or milk through the postal service. All fresh ingredients such as eggs, milk and butter and a small selection of other ingredients we ask you to buy in advance. You receive the grocery shopping list one week in advance to the email address which you provided during your booking. We also include the grocery list for you as a printed hard copy and when you open the box it is the first thing you see. This should remind you in case you haven’t followed up on the email yet.

In addition to the majority of the ingredients you also receive piping bags, the piping tip and the silicone baking mat. These are all very important to help you pipe and bake the perfect macarons. In the same email as the grocery list email, you receive a "Mise en Place“ photo with all the kitchen tools you should have ready when the Zoom call begins. Some of the more important kitchen tools are a Handmixer, a rubber spatula and several bowls, ideally stainless steel, an oven and a kitchen scale to measure the fresh ingredients.

We currently have a complete video that you have unlimited access to after the virtual macaron course. You receive a password for this video via email one week before your virtual course. This means you can practice or see what the class will include in advance or watch it after your class with us just to fresh up your memory. We are currently working hard to put together a video for our virtual cake pop class too.

A baking box course is a great gift for someone who loves to bake and wants the convenience of everything sent in a box to bake directly from home. You have a choice. You can buy a gift certificate for a macaron or cake pop bake box course and pay the cost for that course in full and then the recipient of the gift certificate can choose the class date at a later time. Alternatively, you can buy a gift certificate of a certain value amount or denomination and this can partially cover the cost of a course or another purchase in our online shop.

Event

The maximum amount of participants is 11 for which we have seating. There is standing room for 12 participants.

The minimum amount of participants to run a private class is 4 participants.

It depends how fully booked we are. Ideally you should book a minimum of 4-5 months in advance of your event date. Our course schedule is available onlineso you can see which dates are already taken well in advance. A nice idea if you see that your event date is already booked out on a Saturday or Sunday, try to request a Friday evening slot.

Almost all of our private events take place at our location in Waldems which is great because you don’t have to do the dishes when you are done!

We do also offer courses on location whether directly at your home or in an event location. We bring all the ingredients and materials in large transport boxes, do a complete set up and then we bake together. Please note that there are additional costs for travel and set up time to consider when booking outside of the Waldems location.

Events usually take place on Saturdays and Sundays however a great under-booked but just as fun time slot is Friday evenings!

There are two main options for course durations. There is the shorter course which is 2,5 hours long and includes small amounts of baking and is more focused on decoration and putting desserts together. The other option is a 4-hour course. Courses which run 4 hours have a break with  complimentary finger food. This usually includes pizza or sandwiches or salads as well as a fruit platter. During the 4 hours, the participants are involved in the whole baking process. The shorter option is designed as a quick and easy part of a bigger itinerary and the longer option is for the real baking enthusiast who wants to spend as much time baking as possible.

Usually it is nice for the 14 year old to come with a friend or adult so they have someone to connect with during the class as other participants often also come with partners. For 13 and 12 year olds, a parent is required.

Participants can bring a notepad and a pen for taking notes. Participants can bring their own apron to the event. For baking events, it is always a nice touch when the party organizer provides matching aprons for everyone. Boxes are provided for the freshly baked goodies however you can also bring a large flat bottomed bag for easier transport.

Catering

It depends on the size of your order and how fully booked we are. Ideally you should book a minimum of 3 weeks in advance of your pick up or delivery date. This ensures nothing is overlooked and there is enough time to buy fresh ingredients and discuss and plan all design ideas. For weddings or large parties we ask for a minimum of 5 weeks advance notice to the pick up or delivery date. Our preorder schedule is first-come-first-served and can fill up at any time, so the more notice you give the more likely it will be that we have availability. Everything is baked fresh to order and we do not keep frozen cupcakes or cakes in stock so no short notice orders are possible.

Catering with Logo

If you are having trouble with your logo uploading, do not stress. Because our lead time for freshly baked logo cupcakes is 4 days you always have time to resend and/or we will get in touch and follow up with the logo that needs to be printed.

No, the disks on the logo cake pops are not edible. The logo disk is printed on high quality paper and threaded through the cake pop stick.

Yes, the disks on the logo cupcakes are completely edible. The logo disk is printed on a piece of sugar paper with edible food color ink. The sugar paper disk is floppy so we glue it with glucose onto a hard piece of sugar paste which is also edible. There is often condensation in the cupcake box so our logo disks can take on a shine but this is totally normal. One way to avoid this is to pack the logo disks separately and have the customer apply the disks themselves before the event. This is not the standard but if you would like this, it is always an option.

Logo cake pops come in a cake box. They can be taken out of this box and placed directly onto a plate or platter as they have a smooth bottom. Individually packaged cake pops are also possible. Please search for individually packaged
cake pops on our website for more information about this product.

Individually packaged macarons are packed in transparent plastic bags and sealed with a ribbon bow. They arrive in a cake box and can be distributed directly to you.
